Q. Can tungsten be engraved?
A. YES! Your engraved ring usually ships within one business day! We use a high-powered laser which creates a darker and deeper engraving and makes the special message to your loved one stand out. We recommend engraving up to 30 characters inside a ring (including spaces). If you feel you need more characters or if you have a special design request please contact us at sales@sunsetjewelers.com

Q. Do your rings contain cobalt?
A. No! Our tungsten carbide rings are made with a superior nickel-binder alloy and NOT a cobalt-binder which can oxidize and cause allergic reactions.

Lehi, UT 84043
Sunset Jewelers is not responsible for items that are shipped back to us. Please ship the ring back in a padded envelope or a box. If you ship the ring(s) back in a plain envelope it could be lost or damaged due to the post office’s high speed sorting equipment.
Q. How do I determine my finger size?
A. To be sure of your finger size we recommend that you visit two to three different jewelry stores to get your finger sized (it’s free). Some jewelers will tell you to order tungsten rings a half size smaller if it’s a comfort fit ring but please recognize that this rule doesn’t apply to everyone.
-NOTE: There is no difference between men’s and women’s sizes. The jewelry industry determines a ring size by the inside measurement of the ring. For example, if your finger measures a size 8 then your ring should be a size 8.
Q. Will the laser image/engraving rub off or wear off over time?
A. No! The laser actually burns the image/engraving into the ring making it permanent.
Q. Can black tungsten rings scratch?
A. Our black tungsten rings have a durable black coating over a traditional color tungsten ring which under normal wear will be fine. The black coating is put on using a process called Ionic Plating (IP) which thoroughly coats the ring. Therefore, because the black is a coating it can show scratches over time, especially if the ring is worn roughly.
Q. Are black tungsten rings a gun metal grey color?
A. No. Our black tungsten rings are a dark midnight black color.
Q. Can gold tungsten rings scratch?
A. Our gold tungsten rings have a durable gold coating over a traditional color tungsten ring which under normal wear will be fine. The gold coating is put on using a process called Ionic Plating (IP) which thoroughly coats the ring. Therefore, because the gold is a coating it can show scratches over time, especially if the ring is worn roughly. Scratches on gold tungsten rings are not very noticeable.
Q. What color are traditional tungsten rings?
A. Traditional tungsten color is darker silver, close to the color of titanium. The high polish finish will always stay bright due to the scratch resistant nature of the metal which makes this metal perfect for any active person!
Q. Can tungsten rings be removed in the case of an emergency?
A. Yes, however first we recommend soaking your finger in very cold water and applying a lubricant like hand lotion, petroleum jelly or even window cleaner to see if you are able to slide the tungsten ring off your finger. If you still can not remove the tungsten ring, a vice grip can be used to gently crack the tungsten carbide ring.
